Chile stretches along South America’s western edge, with more than 6,000km of Pacific Ocean coastline.
What does Chile offer? – City, shopping, sightseeing, gastronomy, landscapes, adventure, culture, scenery, trekking, horse riding and ranches, wine, self-drive.
Santiago is Chile’s cosmopolitan capital. It sits in a valley surrounded by the Andes and Chilean Coast Range mountains. Culture vultures will want to visit the neoclassical cathedral and the National History Museum on the palm-lined Plaza de Armas. Families will enjoy the huge Parque Metropolitano where they will find a zoo, botanical garden and swimming pools.
Outside of the capital, why not take a trip to the Atacama Desert, the driest nonpolar desert on Earth, stretching for roughly 600-miles. Or be wowed by the breathtaking lakes and mountains of the Puerto Varas region and the glacial fjords of Patagonia. If that isn’t enough, you could also fly to the remote volcanic Easter island, famed for its archaeological sites including the moai, carved human figures with oversize heads.
Or perhaps you’ll want to tour the stunning wine country? One thing’s for sure, wherever you go, you will be delighted by what Chile offers.
